The bookshop mans a large and important intersection between the English garden, a bank and well-visited shops. Opened by Luigi Portinaio in 1968, it is now run by the lively family, with children Selene and Tommaso, and grandson Roberto.

It remains an independent bookstore among five surviving ones; very large, with neat shelves that are easily accessible. The shop on Via Vittorio Emanuele is also pleasant.

The catalogue is huge: Architecture, Sicilian History and Culture, children. Games and souvenirs are added. Nonfiction, psychology. Design, literature, geography. He collaborates with local publishers such as Kalos and new young publishers. Specializing in used books, it ranks first on Amazon. It accepts all books used by individuals.
